[Morning Talk] The diamondback terrapin is a salt marsh turtle listed as a species of special concern in Connecticut, threatened by vehicle collisions and crab traps. The Terrapin Tracking Team, a collaboration among Connecticut DEEP, the Connecticut Department of Transportation, the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, and Western Connecticut State University, supports research and conservation. This talk will highlight terrapin ecology, key threats, and ongoing research in Connecticut, including how temperature influences population dynamics.
